Will

Name: Will

Age: 7 years

Sex: Male

Breed: Domestic Short Hair

Ref number: 94

Personality:
Will is looking for a special home after his owner sadly passed away. He is a loving boy who had formed a close bond with his previous owner who respected his boundaries. In his previous home and in the cattery, he enjoys some fuss on his own terms. Will is responsive and will greet when called by his socialisers. He can also be quite a chatty boy at times.

Behaviour:
Will is a friendly boy but worried by the sounds in the cattery. When he is feeling brave, he will come down from his top shelf to greet socialisers. If he is unsure, he will return to his safe space on the top shelf. He likes to sit nearby within the presence of his socialisers and when he wants some attention, he will ask for this by approaching their hand and giving a gentle headbutt. Once he has had enough interaction, he will take himself off to get comfy and snooze. In his previous home, he would sleep on the bed during the night; sometimes choosing the sofa if he was feeling more independent.

Housing:
Will does prefer the safety of his unit and finds new surroundings a little scary, so for this reason he would benefit from his own unused room to initially settle in before exploring the rest of the property, and eventually a garden. He cannot be homed in Gosport PO13

Children/pets:
Will needs to be the only pet in the household and would be best suited to an adult only home. Visiting children will need to be of secondary school aged due to his dislike of younger children in his previous home. Will would benefit from his owners being around most of the day to keep him company.

Vet history:
Will is neutered, microchipped, flea and wormed. His second vaccination is due between 04/06/26 – 10/06/26 at the shelter and the cost is included in the adoption fee.
Will has no known medical conditions. Will is overweight and is advised to lose weight at a gradual pace. This can be discussed with your own vet to create a plan for him in a home.
4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £100. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

All rented and leasehold properties will require written consent from the property owner or agent. This needs to be in place before completing an application form. If your application is successful, staff will request a copy.

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the cat.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.

Please note you have to be 18+ to apply for an animal.
