Richie

Name: Richie

Age: 2 years 8 months approx

Sex: Male

Breed: Domestic Short Hair

Ref number: 38

Personality:
Richie hasn’t had the best start in life, coming into our care from a massive multi cat household of over 50 cats. He found the cattery environment quite stressful and spent most of his time hiding away, although he was very active at night once the staff had gone home. Richie has been lucky enough to spend time with an amazing foster family and he has thrived, he’s like a completely different cat.

Behaviour:
Richie had his own room to initially settle into and a good routine was provided by his foster family to help Richie feel at home. Once he was feeling safe and a bit braver he would gradually start to explore his room and they could see his confidence building each day. His foster family let Richie do everything on his terms which helped him create a bond with them. He now explores the whole house and you can usually find him snoozing in a variety of comfy places, sitting on the window ledge watching the world go by or playing with a variety of toys, including ear plugs! He’s now a very social cat who loves spending time with his new family and will actively go to them for attention, he’s a really loving and affectionate boy.

Housing:
Richie finds new surroundings and environments a little scary at first, so for this reason he will need his own unused room to initially settle in before exploring the rest of the property, and eventually a garden. He cannot be homed in Portsmouth (PO6 area).

Children/pets:
Richie can live with older aged secondary school children who must be calm around him and allow him to initiate any contact when he feels settled and comfortable with them. Richie needs to be the only pet in the household.

Vet history:
Richie is neutered, microchipped, flea, wormed and fully vaccinated. Richie has no known medical conditions. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £100. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the cat.
