Name: Parker
Age: 2 years
Sex: Male
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Ref number: 189
Personality:
Parker is a nervous boy who has had a difficult start to live in a multi-cat household. He is finding the cattery environment a little unusual so he is struggling to gain his confidence. Due to this he likes a safe place to hide in his unit.
Behaviour:
Parker has benefitted from having some privacy in his unit so that he feels comfortable to access his resources when people are around. As Parker gets quite worried when people are watching him, Staff have used cameras to see what he gets up to when no one is around. Parker has shown to be a playful and vocal boy during his most active times which is currently overnight. In his previous home, he was described to be an affectionate boy so we are hoping that in a home environment, he will slowly gain his trust back. Parker is looking for his adopters to have a hands off approach to allow him to have choice and control over his interactions.
Housing:
Parker does prefer the safety of his carrier and finds new surroundings a little scary, so for this reason he would need his own unused room to settle into before exploring the rest of the property, and eventually a garden. He cannot be homed in Eastleigh so50. 3 months behavioural support provided by onsite behaviourist.
Children/pets:
Parker needs an adult only home. He cannot live with cats or dogs.
Vet history:
Parker is neutered, microchipped, flea, wormed and fully vaccinated. Parker has no known medical conditions. Parker came into our care with ear mites. He has had routine treatment for this and regular ear cleaning. His ears are now looking much better but adopters will need to be aware as he may need ad-hoc cleaning in the future. Regular vet prescribed flea and wormer is advised from your own vet. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.
