Rehoming – Profile
History:
Oscar came into our care as his owner sadly died. He was in the property for two weeks before being found.
Behaviour observations on site:
Poor Oscar is a really sensitive little soul. He’s been in our care for nearly 2 weeks now, at first he struggled to cope in this environment, but he is slowly starting to come out of his shell. He’s a very affectionate boy once he trusts you who loves to be stroked and will head butt for more attention. However, sometimes he does panic a little, especially if he gets spooked, so will go back into his carrier where he feels safe.
As time goes on and Oscar is starting to settle he is beginning to show he has a little playful side and loves a catnip mouse.
Because Oscar is quite sensitive he would benefit from an unused room of his own so he can feel safe without feeling overwhelmed. Once settled he can then explore the rest of the property and eventually a fully enclosed garden. We really believe when out of the cattery environment he will start to thrive and grow in confidence.
Oscar has lived with other cats in his previous two homes, but didn’t get on with them. In his last home he was shut in a room due to not getting on with the other resident cat, for this reason Oscar needs to be an only pet in an adult only home.
We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the cat.
Medical history:
Oscar is neutered, microchipped, flea and wormed. His second vaccination is due between 14/12/2023-20/12/2023 at the shelter and the cost is included in the adoption fee.
Oscar has a little alopecia which we believe is stress related but has no other known medical conditions.
4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.
Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.
Additional information:
Oscar cannot be rehomed to SO16 area of Southampton.
