Maurice & Cornelius

Name: Maurice and Cornelius

Age: Adult (unknown)

Sex: Males

Breed: English Crested & Peruvian

Ref number: 1 & 2

Aren’t these a handsome pair! Maurice (mostly ginger) and Cornelius (tri-coloured) are growing in confidence as each day goes by! Spending time in our Reception Cabin to interact with the world, gave the boys a real boost. When they’re not taking a quick siesta, they love to sit at their very own pig-nic bench munching through a dinner of veg!

During their time with us we haven’t noted any concerns with the boys, other than them feeling unsure when it comes to being picked up, like most piggies! But once settled, they will happily cosy up on a lap for a cuddle. We would advise at least one meeting, where staff can allow the potential adopter to interact and discuss any potential mixing and their requirements.

They will require an enclosure of a minimum of 6ft x 2ft either indoors (such as a C&C pen) or outdoors (a large shed set up). A run/pen for the garden on grass is recommended with a lid as well to ensure their safety. Maurice and Cornelius can be homed as a pair, or they could be mixed with a large group of female Guinea Pigs, but at least two females for each to avoid fighting.

Can live with dogs/cats, but to be kept separately. They can also live with children of 8+ years, this is due to them being a bit nervous when being handled, and they can easily be spooked so child supervision for interaction is advised.

Maurice and Cornelius have both been neutered and currently have no medical issues. Due to the pair having quite long coats, grooming would be required at least once a week to prevent matting.

They also require their anal glands to be checked and/or cleaned regularly, as they arrived quite dirty.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £30. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the guinea pigs.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.

Please note you have to be 18+ to apply for an animal
