Personality:
Lucas is an inquisitive boy who enjoys company, he will roll around purring and asking you for attention constantly. He absolutely loves being near you and receiving fuss, especially if you scratch his lower back or round his face. When he’s not having cuddles, it’s playtime! He climbs and jumps everywhere and loves chasing any toy he can find especially string toys. He follows you everywhere and wants lots of love. Maxine can be a little nervous sometimes but is getting braver as she’s got her brother to help. She will follow Lucas down to see you when she’s sure it’s safe, she’ll have a good sniff of you then begin rubbing round your legs and playing with you or her brother. She has a lovely soft purr when she’s playing or having gentle strokes with you and has shown that she can be a confident girl when given the space and time to do so. She is a sweet girl who enjoys having company of others to keep her and her brother busy throughout the day.
Behaviour:
Lucas is an energetic boy who loves to play, he spends lots of his time chasing things around and getting the zoomies. He is extremely good at pouncing on his toys and catches them every time! He enjoys playing with his sister Maxine usually batting each other through a tunnel or chasing one another. When he’s not playing he is a cuddle monster and wants all the attention he can get. When he’s finally worn out for the day he loves to curl up with his sister in a cozy bed and get some well needed rest. Maxine loves to be at the top of her hide and sleep bed with her brother in all the cozy blankets, they spend lots of the day in there together all snuggled up. She then comes out to play, she loves a spring toy that she can bat all around as well as climbing in and out of cardboard boxes. She has shown that she is a very skilled climber and likes to show off in front of her brother!
Housing:
Lucas and Maxine are being rehomed together. Lucas and Maxine will need a home with outside access to a garden once he has initially settled indoors. He cannot be homed in the Southampton, SO16 area.
Children/pets:
Lucas and Maxine can live with children of any age who will give him the space and time he needs to settle in and allow him to come to you on his terms. They cannot be rehomed with other cats or dogs.
Vet history:
Lucas and Maxine are microchipped, flea’d and wormed. Their new owners will need to be able to take Lucas and Maxine to St Peter’s vets in Farlington for their neutering on 29/12/25. They will need to come to the shelter to see one of our vet team for a post op check 3-7 days after their surgery. The cost of these will be covered by the shelter. Their second vaccination is due between 24/12/25 – 30/12/25 at the shelter and the cost is included in the adoption fee. Lucas and Maxine have no known medical conditions. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.
Additional information:
All rented and leasehold properties will require written consent from the property owner or agent. This needs to be in place before completing an application form. If your application is successful, staff will request a copy.
We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the cat.
Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.
