Name: Lavender
Age: 4 years old
Sex: Female
Breed: Rabbit
Ref number: 16
Personality:
Lavender is a sweet girl who loves to go on adventures and to explore the outdoors. When she’s not expelling her energy, you will often find her relaxing on her outside shelf or in her hay box. Lavender has been very unlucky finding love whilst in our care and as such we believe it is now the right time for her to find a home she can settle into away from the shelter environment.
Behaviour:
One meeting is required with Lavender, as she is an independent girl and therefore a little unsure around handling so tends to prefer a slightly hands off approach. Over time this has greatly improved since she arrived, and enjoys socialising on her terms. The addition of her carrier training has made this even more manageable. This is advised to be continued in the new home and can be demonstrated by staff, but isn’t compulsory. During a meet, staff can discuss Lavender, her requirements and the plan for mixing her with male friend in 6 months time from the Ark once she’s fully settled in a home.
Housing:
Due to Lavender initially being rehomed as a single rabbit an indoor setup is recommended (as she may feel more threatened outside on her own) such as, a large rabbit-proof room, however outdoor accommodations will still be considered like a large shed with an aviary/run permanently attached. Sizes can be discussed with staff but a minimum of 6ft x 4ft for each. Indoor setups will still require a separate outdoor run, this is due to Lavender’s love for being outdoors.
Children/pets:
Lavender will need to be in an adult only household or families with older children (14+) will be considered. This is due to her sometimes being unsure and she will need a family who can recognize her behaviours. she will need those around her to understand when she is feeling uncomfortable. She can live around dogs/cats, but to be kept separately.
Vet history:
Lavender is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. She has also had her teeth checked and currently has no medical issues.
Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £30. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.
Additional information:
We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the rabbits.
Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.
