Name: Jake
Age: 12 weeks
Sex: Male
Breed: Bull breed mix
Ref number: 13

Personality:
Let us introduce you to our adorable Jake. He has not had the best start as him and his litter mates came to us at only a few months old and have already spent most of their young lives in kennels. We have been gradually exposing Jake to things here at the centre. He has had time being socialised with people and also been on some in arm (or in pram!) walks but his experience of the world is limited at the moment. Like all puppies, Jake is playful and affectionate, but of course, a little mouthy and likes to chew on things too. Jake will need dedicated owners who are prepared to put in the time and effort it takes when raising a puppy. Adopters should enrol their puppy in training classes to help them start off on the right paw.
Please do not apply for this puppy if you are not in a position to adopt immediately.

Behaviour:
Jake is a confident and playful puppy, who loves a game of tug and a cuddle. Jake also likes to spend time playing with his siblings and won’t hesitate to tell them off when they are to much for him. he likes to explore with his mouth and will need toy play encouragement. Out of the litter Jake is the most worried about being left and likely to cry so his new adopters should expect to allow him to be close to them most of the time and will need a very slow introduction to being left. However he is calm when he knows you are close and loves to sit on your lap or be carried.

Housing:
Jake will not be able to be left alone at all initially, he will need someone home with him at all times and will need a gradual exposure to being left alone. He will need access to a private, secure garden. Adopters must be willing to puppy proof their home to set Jake up for success possibly even restricting access to certain areas with things like baby gates.

Children/pets:
Jake can live with secondary school aged children, and other dogs subject to successful meets at the Centre. Jake cannot live with cats as we believe he will need to be close to his family most of the time. Please consider before applying if your existing animals will be happy to welcome a bouncy puppy into their home.

Vet history:
While here Jake has had what we suspect to have been kennel cough, he is well now but may still cough occasionally, details will be
provided to the adopters. They are also currently fed puppy gastro which we hope to wean them off soon but any new home may need to order this food in initially. Jake is up to date with flea and worming treatments. He has had his first vaccination and will need to return to the shelter for his 2nd vaccination and neutering (when they are old enough)

Additional information:
We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.
Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.
Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.
