Name: Gracie
Age: 1 year old
Sex: Female
Breed: DSLH
Ref number: 29
Personality:
When Gracie first came into us as a stray she was absolutely petrified and would hide in the back of her carrier. After three weeks of staffs hard work to make friends and even trialling some medication to help her relax, Gracie still found the cattery environment really scary. Luckily one of our amazing volunteers asked to foster her so she would have the opportunity to shine in a home environment. Her foster parents spent a lot of time gaining Gracie’s trust at a pace she felt comfortable with and it certainly paid off, Gracie is now such a loving and affectionate girl.
Behaviour:
Gracie enjoys playing with a variety of toys, especially her string toy. Once she’s tired herself out she will happily jump on your lap purring and will curl up for a snooze. She has now created a lovely bond with her foster parents and loves a fuss, usually a gentle cheek, chin and neck tickle. She has the longest fluffiest tail and enjoys a body stroke too. Gracie will find meeting her new family a little scary and will hide away but her foster parents have some lovely videos to show what a beautiful and loving girl she will be once she finds her feet and is settled in her new home.
Housing:
Gracie takes a little while to settle in new surroundings and really values her safe space, so for this reason she will need her own unused room to settle in, her new family need to appreciate this may be for several weeks, possibly a little longer. Once Gracie is comfortable in her new surroundings she can explore the rest of the property, and eventually a fully enclosed private garden. She cannot be homed in Gosport. Our behaviourist will be able to give Gracie’s new owners 3 months post adoption support while she settles in her new home.
Children/pets:
Gracie’s foster parents would loved to have kept her but unfortunately she has shown a strong dislike to the resident cats so needs to be an only pet. She needs an adult only home with owners who will be gentle and calm around her as she doesn’t like loud noises or sudden movements.
Vet history:
Gracie is neutered, microchipped, flea, wormed and fully vaccinated. Gracie has no known medical conditions. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.
The adoption fee is £80. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated. Please note, Gracie will remain in her foster home until she goes to her forever home. Any potential adopters will meet her at her fosterers home, which is located a few minutes away from the shelter
