Name: Desmond
Age: 3 years
Sex: Male
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Ref number: 54
Personality:
Desmond took a while to settle and whilst he’s still very unhappy with the cattery environment he’s slowly starting to relax with staff giving slow blinks and coming quite close to them.
Behaviour:
Desmond is very unhappy in the cattery environment. In his previous home he was loving and affectionate but sadly he’s clearly not happy here and doesn’t seek out any human companionship. He is looking for a kind and patient home with owners that are prepared to give him all the time and space he needs to settle. We hope, given time and being away from a stressful environment, Des will thrive and grow in confidence. Behavioural support will be given by our behaviour team.
Housing:
Desmond prefers the safety of his unit and finds new surroundings a little scary, so for this reason he would benefit from his own unused room to settle. Please be aware this may take a long time and he should only be given access to the rest of the house once he has truly settled. Eventually he will need access to a private garden. He cannot be homed in Portsmouth area (Po1)
Children/pets:
Desmond is looking for an adult only home with no other pets as we want to give him the best chance to settle.
Vet history:
Desmond has been on some medication to help him relax while in our care. This will be provided for his new home and a plan will be given on how to gradually wean him off of this. He is microchipped, fully vaccinated flea and wormed. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.
Additional information:
