Name: Delphi
Age: 1 year approx
Sex: Female
Breed: British Short Hair
Ref number: 42

Personality:
Delphi found coming into our care quite stressful however, has enjoyed the company of staff since being with us, she can be an affectionate girl once she is comfortable around you, especially if you’ve got some yummy food with you! She is friendly when she gets the courage to come out of her hideaway and likes to have gentle strokes on her chin and cheeks whilst rubbing round your hand. Delphi can get nervous at times when there is noise outside her unit.

Behaviour:
Delphi will poke her head out of her hideaway once you have sat down quietly next to her, she is keen to come out for a trail of chicken and will then enjoy some fuss next to her hideaway where she feels safe. Once she has settled she enjoys the company and often sits next to you purring. She will initiate attention by nudging your hand. Delphi is wary of sudden sounds and movement and will return to her hideaway when spooked. She hasn’t shown much of an interest in toys, but she does love a good roll around in cat mint leaves! She may become more playful once settled into a home environment.

Housing:
Delphi will return to the safety of her hideaway when spooked and finds new surroundings a little scary, so for this reason she would need her own unused room in the house to initially settle into before exploring the rest of the property as well as the garden. She cannot be homed in the Hillhead area of Fareham (PO14).

Children/pets:
Delphi could live an older secondary school child who will be patient and give her the time to settle, Delphi would not be able to live with other cats or dogs.

Vet history:
Delphi is neutered, microchipped, flea, wormed and fully vaccinated. Delphi has no known medical conditions. Delphi has been on some medication to help her relax whilst in our care. This will be provided for her new home and a plan will be given on how to gradually wean her off of this. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.
