Name: Buttons & Crunchie
Age: 1 year
Sex: Male and Female
Breed: Rabbits
Ref number: 21 & 22
Personality:
Say hi to the cuties that are Buttons and Crunchie! Crunchie is our brown brave boy, who certainly takes the lead. Whereas Buttons is the more timid girly, but she is ever so sweet and gentle. She’ll often be following behind in her brother’s footsteps, as they venture out from their wooden hide for a veg snack or to hear the next story they are being read! They love keeping busy with a fun gnaw toy or a forage box.
Behaviour:
We would ask that you meet Buttons and Crunchie at the centre at least once. At this time the staff can discuss the pair, their requirements and allow you to interact with them in a way they are used to, as all handling makes them nervous and sudden movements/sounds can easily spook them. They are read to, daily by staff or volunteers to build up their trust and confidence, the idea is to help reduce the fear of being caught/picked up and since we have seen positive gradual improvements. Interactions on their level are best for encouraging them out of their shell, so we would advise this in the new home. With patience, love and trust they will approach to feed their curiosity.
Housing:
Buttons and Crunchie can either be homed to an indoor or outdoor set up. This would require a rabbit-proof room or a large shed with a run permanently attached. Minimum sizing would be 6ft x 4ft for each. Either accommodations need to be safe environments that allow the duo to display their natural behaviour (such as digging and foraging).
Children/pets:
They can live around dogs/cats, but to be kept separately. Children will need to be no younger than 12 years old. This is due to the pair being quite nervous around people and require a hands off, calm and quiet approach. We would advise that children are supervised when interacting with them.
Vet history:
Both Buttons and Crunchie have been neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. They have had their teeth checked and currently have no medical issues.
Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £45. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.
Additional information:
We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the rabbits.
Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.
Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.
