Rehoming – Profile
Benji came into the shelter originally as a stray, an owner then came forward but then signed him over to us.
Behaviour observations on site:
Benji is a gentle giant who is sociable with people and other dogs, he loves human company and will make a wonderful companion. Benji can be very strong on the lead especially when following a scent. However he is doing well with loose lead training here at the shelter, but this will need to be continued in the home.
Benji will need to learn to be left as he can howl and bark when left alone, the company of another dog may really help him to settle into a new home. Potential adopters should be willing to work through any signs of separation anxiety, with the understanding that this can take a long time to rectify.
Benji is playful with toys and affectionate with people. He likes cuddles and thinks he is a lap dog – large sofa required! Benji would thrive in a family that are active and adventurous, he loves being outside and sniffing everything!
Benji is a lot of fun to be with and will be a great addition to a family.
We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.
Benji has seen our vet and currently has no medical issues. He has had his vaccinations, flea and worming whilst in our care.
Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.
Cannot be rehomed to Gosport
