Name: April
Age: 1 1⁄2 years
Sex: Female
Breed: Guinea Pig
Ref number: 33
Personality:
April is a shy girl who will need time to get used to her new owner, she currently enjoys having strokes while sitting in her cosy bed on your lap. April is looking for a friend to live with, this can either be a castrated male, a female or a group of piggies. April is a sassy independent girl who loves being able to forage for her food on her snuffle mat.
Behaviour:
April has spent some time in a temporary foster home, where she got close to her fosterer and enjoyed snuggles. Like most piggies she can be unsure of being picked up but once snuggled in a cosy lap they settle well. April is very skittish around loud noises and will hide away until she feels safe. We would advise at least one meeting, where staff can discuss April and any mixing of other piggies.
Housing:
She will require an enclosure of a minimum of 6ft x 2ft, either indoors (such as a C&C pen) or outdoors (a large shed set up) and we do recommend a run for the garden with a lid. She can be mixed and homed as a pair, or could be mixed with a large group of female Guinea Pigs.
Children/pets:
Can live with cats/dogs in a separate room. Age requirement of children is 8+ years, this is due to her being a bit nervous when it comes to handling, and she can be easily spooked so child supervision for interaction is advised.
Vet history:
Currently has no medical issues.
