Mowgli

Name: Mowgli

Age: 6 years

Sex: Male

Breed: Domestic Short Hair

Ref number: 96

Personality:
Mowgli came into our care after being abandoned by his previous owners several years ago. A lovely neighbour looked out for him during this time but due to a change in circumstances they were no longer able to continue to. Mowgli does find the cattery environment incredibly stressful and is always hyper vigilant to his surroundings due to the other cats in the environment and his past experiences with cats.

Behaviour:
Mowgli finds his new surroundings quite conflicting. He can be social towards people and enjoy their company, sitting on their lap and is very responsive when we call his name, trotting over to see us with his tail in his air, but due to his past and the surrounding cats, he doesn’t always know how to channel his emotions and has redirected his frustration onto staff. Because of this, Mowgli is looking for a converted shed/garage/summer house in a garden he can call his own. We believe with choice and control over his surroundings he will thrive.

3 months post adoption support will be provided by our onsite Cattery Behaviourist.

Housing:
Due to our observations onsite, Mowgli is looking for a safe, secure and sheltered shed/garage/summer house in a garden, in a low cat populated area. It is recommended his adopters initially use a hands off approach whilst he is settling and learning to trust them, with a predictable routine. It is likely, once settled, fully relaxed in his new environment, and with the freedom to come and go as he pleases, he may choose to live a more conventional lifestyle in the home.

Children/pets:
Mowgli needs to be homed to adults only and to a household with no other pets. It is essential he is adopted to a low cat populated area as he has a strong dislike to them due to his history.

Vet history:
Mowgli is neutered, microchipped, flea, wormed and will be fully vaccinated. Mowgli has no known medical conditions. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £50. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

All rented and leasehold properties will require written consent from the property owner or agent. This needs to be in place before completing an application form. If your application is successful, staff will request a copy.

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the cat.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.

Please note you have to be 18+ to apply for an animal.
