Name: Sushi
Age: 3 years approx
Sex: Female
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Ref number: 90

Personality:
Sushi came from a busy multi – cat household. Since coming into our care, she found the change of environment very scary and struggle to settle. Sushi in now in a lovely foster home, where she was given her own room to settle and take it at her own pace. After several weeks of her foster family being patient and respecting Sushi’s boundaries, she has now shown what a loving and affectionate girl she is.

Behaviour:
Sushi has gained lots of confidence since being in her foster home. Over a period of 5 weeks, Sushi gradually investigated her own bedroom and then some further exploring of the house once she felt comfortable and safe to do so. Sushi now is relaxed around her foster family and enjoys spending time with them, sometimes even following them around the house. She will sit on their laps and on the back of the sofa, cuddled into their necks. Sushi is now awaiting her forever home and will need her adopters to be understanding of her boundaries and to be patient with her whilst she gets used to her new home environment. It is likely that Sushi will need to gain her trust again with human interaction so her adopters should allow her plenty of time; ensuring that she is the first to initiate the contact so that she smooth transition into her home.

Housing:
Sushi initially prefers the safety of having her own room and can find new surroundings a little scary to start with, so for this reason she will need her own unused room to initially settle in before exploring the rest of the property, and eventually a garden. She cannot be homed in Havant (PO9 area).

Children/pets:
Sushi will need to be the only pet and can possibly live with older aged teenage children who will be calm around her and will allow her space to settle.

Vet history:
Sushi is neutered, microchipped, flea, wormed and fully vaccinated. Sushi arrived in our care with sore, itchy skin and generalised alopecia; likely related to flea dermatitis. Sushi has no ongoing medical conditions but it is recommended she has vet prescribed flea treatment every month to keep her skin in good condition. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.
