Luke

Name: Luke

Age: 1 year

Sex: Male

Breed: Domestic Short Hair

Ref number: 114

Personality:
Luke is a gentle and relaxed boy. He hasn’t had the easiest start to life; he came into our care with a bone infection to his front left leg which he unfortunately had to have amputated and is recovering well from this. Throughout his treatment and recovery, he remained a loving boy who just wanted the human company. Often wanting to be rested against staff and volunteers laps, nudging their hands for cheek scratches.

Behaviour:
Luke is an affectionate boy and will come over to greet you as you enter his unit. Now that he has settled, he has become a little chatty at times. He likes to be beside you or on your lap having a fuss. He is sensitive to noise so if he’s feeling a bit unsure, he will go to the safety of his carrier. Luke is looking forward to starting a new journey in a quiet household, where he has people around to keep him company.

Housing:
Luke does get easily spooked by external sounds and will run back to his carrier where he feels safe, so for this reason he would benefit from his own unused room to initially settle in before exploring the rest of the property and eventually a safe garden with supervised access. He cannot be homed in Eastleigh SO50.

Children/pets:
Luke could live with secondary school aged children and will need to be the only pet in the household.

Vet history:
Luke is neutered, microchipped, flea and wormed. His second vaccination is due between 28/08/2025-03/09/2025 at the shelter and the cost is included in the adoption fee. Luke has no known medical conditions. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £100. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

All rented and leasehold properties will require written consent from the property owner or agent. This needs to be in place before completing an application form. If your application is successful, staff will request a copy.

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the cat.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.
