Name: Smudge
Age: 11 years and 9 months
Sex: Male
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Ref number: 18

Personality:
Smudge is such a calm and gentle boy who is looking for a quiet home to enjoy his senior years in. He prefers the comfort of his hide and sleep but will come out for some fuss with staff and volunteers he knows and trusts, especially if they have some yummy food with them.

Behaviour:
Smudge will often hide away during the day but will happily have his head scratched whilst rolling around in his hide and sleep. He will keep popping out for some fuss, and has even started letting some people groom him. He does get easily startled and will run back into his safe space when he gets a bit worried. In his previous home, his owner said that Smudge liked so sit on her lap, we’re hoping Smudge will feel confident enough to do this in his new home.

Housing:
Smudge does prefer the safety of his unit and finds new surroundings a little scary, so for this reason he will need his own unused room to initially settle in before exploring the rest of the property, and eventually a garden. He cannot be homed in Sholing, Southampton.

Children/pets:
Smudge did come into our care with his sister but they didn’t get on well here, or in their previous home, so the decision was made to split them; for this reason Smudge will need to be an only pet. Smudge is very noise sensitive and has only lived with one lady all his life so is looking for a quiet adult only home.

Vet history:
Smudge is neutered, microchipped, flea, wormed and fully vaccinated. Smudge did come into our care very over weight and has been on a special diet to help shift some excess weight. It will be beneficial to continue this diet in his new home. Once your vet is happy with Smudge’s weight they can advise you about weaning him onto a normal diet. Smudge has no known medical conditions. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.

appreciated.
