Name: Smitty
Age: 11 weeks
Sex: Male
Breed: Jack Russell Terrier/Poodle
Ref number: 100
Personality:
Our lovely puppy Smitty is a Jack Russel Terrier cross and will likely grow up to be a medium sized dog. Unfortunately he came from a multiple dog household where he likely has not received correct socialisation. Smitty is a typical puppy – very inquisitive, playful, curious and brave. He had been incredibly good at the vets and generally has an absolutely lovely personality. Despite his rocky start, he is a lovely natured boy who will thrive in his new home.
Behaviour:
Smitty will need to learn how to be left alone over a period of time. He is a typical young puppy who can be mouthy and jumpy. He will need owners who are prepared to work through it and follow our training advice. Adopters will need to sign him up for puppy training classes and guide him through gradual socialisation at his own pace. Smitty is an absolutely lovely and affectionate little boy and he will make someone very happy. He can be shy at times and would benefit from a quiet home environment where he can adjust in his own time. Adopters with experience of nervous dogs is preferable but not essential.
Housing:
Smitty can live with children 5+. He will need access to an outside space to continue his toilet training and to be able to have off lead time each day.
Children/pets:
He can live with confident cats and another patient dog who is up for living with a tiny/ teethy whirlwind. If in a home with other pets their interactions will need to be managed while Smitty learns to be calm around them.
Vet history:
Smitty will be fully flea’d and wormed. He may have to come into the centre to have his final vaccination after adoption. When Smitty is old enough he will come back to us for neutering.
