Presley

Name: Presley

Age: Adult

Sex: Male

Breed: Gerbil

Ref number: 7

Personality:
This is Presley who is an active and sociable boy with his human friends. His daily activities are bathing in his sand, gnawing away at cardboard enrichment and snoozing in a cosy burrow! He would very much like access to a free roam playpen in his new home too, from time to time.

Behaviour:
Presley has received lots of hands on interaction in his previous home, and therefore is confident and friendly with being handled. Unfortunately, Presley hasn’t had the best experiences with other Gerbils. He came into our care due to a de-clan, and it was during this that one of his front paws/nails was injured. Despite us treating this paw when he arrived, unfortunately it remains to be abnormal to his other paws. But it does not affect his quality of life or welfare. We have since attempted to re-bond Presley, but this wasn’t successful. We feel his paw puts him at a slight disadvantage to re-bond with another Gerbil and past trauma has unsettled him when trying to re-bond. Therefore feel its in his best interest that he finds his forever home as a single Gerbil on this occasion. Presley is seeking a family who will be able to give him plenty of interaction, to provide him companionship where another Gerbil would have.

Housing:
Presley is looking for a large tank enclosure with a minimum sizing of 100cm x 50cm. His housing requires deep bedding for burrowing, accommodation types can be discussed with staff.

Children/pets:
He can live around other pets, but to be kept separately/in a different room. Presley can also live with secondary school aged children (11-18 years) but young children must have adult supervision if interacting/handling.

Vet history:
Presley currently has no health issues. On arrival one of his front paws/nails was injured, this has been treated but won’t return completely normal.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £15. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.
