Name: Poppy
Age: 1 year
Sex: Female
Breed: Domestic Long Hair
Ref number: 183
Personality:
Poppy is a sensitive girl in the cattery environment. She is affectionate and enjoys the company of staff and volunteers. She is very vocal when she wants to get out of her unit to explore. Poppy was initially in a short term foster home and her fosterer reports that she loves to be snuggled up on your lap. Poppy is finding the confinements of the cattery frustrating. She is alert to sound and movements so she can be conflicted around interaction with her socialisers. Poppy can be a playful girl and has fun chasing and pouncing after her feather stick toy.
Behaviour:
Poppy likes to be out on the cattery floor where she can sit and observe the outside world. She also enjoys checking in with her socialisers, rubbing against their legs and having a little chat. Although Poppy does like to nudge hands and roll around against you, she can easily get overstimulated at times and will give a small nip. In the cattery, this is monitored with a hands off approach. Poppy is keen to get on your lap but is struggling with being able to relax with the surroundings of the cattery. Poppy is desperate to find a quiet home where she can eventually curl up on the sofa with her adopters. It took her a little while to settle in the cattery, so her owners will need to be understanding of her shy nature and let her come over to you in her own time.
Housing:
Poppy does get easily spooked when out exploring the cattery floor and will run back to her unit where she feels safe, so for this reason she would need her own unused room to initially settle in before exploring the rest of the property, and eventually a garden. She cannot be homed in Eastleigh SO50.
Children/pets:
Poppy will need to be the only pet in the household. She will need an adult only home due to her sensitive nature.
Vet history:
Poppy is neutered, microchipped, flea, wormed and fully vaccinated. Poppy has a grade 1 heart murmur. She is currently showing no clinical signs and is not on medication for this. Poppy has no other known medical conditions. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.
