Podge

Name: Podge

Age: 12 weeks

Sex: Male

Breed: Bull breed mix

Ref number: 10

Personality:
Let us introduce you our big gorgeous puppy Podge. He has not had the best start to life and found himself with us at only a few months old. Podge is confident to try new things and we have been gradually exposing him to things here at the centre. He has had time being socialised with people here and has also been on some in arm (or in pram!) walks but his experience of the world is pretty limited at the moment. Like all puppies, Podge is playful and affectionate, but of course, a little mouthy and likes to chew on things and fingers too. He will need dedicated owners who are prepared to put in the time and effort it takes when raising a puppy. All adopters should enrol their puppy in training classes to help them start off on the right paw.

Please do not apply for a puppy if you are not in a position to adopt immediately.

Behaviour:
Podge is the biggest of the litter. He is a confident and outgoing boy who loves to play with toys and his siblings, although at times he can be a little to much for them and may get a little telling off, he takes it in his stride and doesn’t let it ruin his fun. Podge is very
much in his teething and mouth exploring age so encouraging play with toys over hands will be crucial. However Podge is very focused on his handler and keen to learn while also being able to settle away from us.

Housing:
Podge will not be able to be left alone at all initially, he will need someone home with him at all times and will need a gradual exposure to being left alone. He will need access to a private, secure garden. He will need his adopters to be willing to puppy proof their home to set Podge up for success possibly even restricting access to certain areas with things like baby gates.

Children/pets:
Podge can live with secondary school aged children, dog savvy cats and other dogs subject to successful meets. Please consider before applying if your existing animals will be happy to welcome a bouncy puppy into their home. Adopters must have the ability and be willing to separate the puppy from other animals and children and to introduce them gradually, and guide children how to behave around them.

Vet history:
Podge does have a mild heart murmur and full details will be provided to potential adopters. He is up to date with flea and worming treatment and microchipped. He’s had his first vaccination and will need to return to the shelter for his 2nd vaccination and
neutering at the appropriate age.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £250. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.

Please note you have to be 18+ to apply for an animal
