Name: Phil & Lil
Age: Kittens
Sex: Male & Female
Breed: DSH
Ref number: 139 & 140
Personality:
Phil & Lil didn’t have the greatest start to life but are looking forward to their next journey. It is likely they didn’t have much human contact before coming into our care, as they were very frightened and would hide away from us as much they could. With time, and with the support of some foster carers, they have made lots of progress and are now curious to interact, especially if you have yummy snacks of toys they can follow. Phil is slightly more confident than Lil and he will be the first one to hoover up a trail of yummy treats. He has started to enjoy gentle fuss from his known handlers and will purr loudly before enjoying a little break. Lil is more hand shy and is taking slightlymore time to trust people but is still showing lots of potential.
Behaviour:
Phil is the more confident of the pair and will approach the front of the unit for cooked ham or chicken. He can be so greedy for food that you have to encourage him to a new location, so that Lil gets a look in. Lil prefers to watch from a distance and from the safety of a high shelf. She will make her way over to join in with time. She is more hand shy, so we remain hands off to allow her to come to you first and initiate for contact. They both enjoy playing with a feather stick toy which is good way to get to know them and build up their interactions with new people. They also love their food which helps Lil especially to boost her confidence and learn to trust you. They will require patience and their own time to build up their confidence in their new home but it will be rewarding once you see their sweet personalities.
Housing:
Phil & Lil prefer the safety of their unit and find new surroundings a little scary, so for this reason they will need their own unused room to initially settle in before exploring the rest of the property, and eventually a garden. They cannot be homed in Southampton (SO17 area).
Children/pets:
Phil and Lil need to be only pets in an adult only home.
Vet history:
Phil and Lil are neutered, microchipped, flea, wormed and fully vaccinated.
