Personality:
Peach and Rosalina are an inquisitive and engaging pair who enjoy being involved in whatever is happening around them. If you’re poo-picking their paddock, don’t be surprised if they come over to investigate or inspect your equipment—they’re always keen to see what’s going on. These beautiful girls had a difficult start in life, having been rescued from an environment where they were deprived of any food, water, and bedding. As a result, they can become highly excited at feeding times and will eagerly come running for breakfast and dinner. To help them feel more secure, the team have established a consistent and predictable feeding routine. This has given them a better understanding of what to expect throughout their day.
Behaviour:
As Peach has learnt to trust the staff, we have seen her gentle side. She enjoys a scratch behind the ears and will happily lie down for a nap in your company. Rosalina is a little more independent, preferring to spend her time exploring the paddock, foraging, or rooting contentedly in the muddy wallow. Together, they make a wonderful pair, each complementing the other’s personality, and are looking for a home where they can continue to thrive together in an environment that allows them to flourish.
Housing:
We are looking for someone with experience of owning pigs, Peach and Rosalina will need a field with post and rail and stock fencing. They would thrive in a quiet small holding due to their complex background, in a paddock a minimum of 1/2 an acre . You will require a CPH number from DEFRA. Children/pets:
Peach and Rosalina will need to be home to an adult only home due to their traumatic past and consequently intense behaviour around food.
Vet history:
Both Peach and Rosalina have been medically cleared. They are fully vaccinated.
Additional information:
All rented and leasehold properties will require written consent from the property owner or agent. This needs to be in place before completing an application form. If your application is successful, staff will request a copy.
We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the pigs.
Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.
