Norbert

Name: Norbert

Age: Approximately 1 Year old

Sex: Male

Breed: Jack Russell Terrier/Mixed Breed

Ref number: 96

Personality:
Norbert is a sweet, fun little ball of energy who thinks he is a cat. He walks really well on the lead and has quickly learnt to wear a harness. He enjoys a good sniff and will happily trot along with you on lead but also loves to have a good run off lead and can jump very high for a little dog. He is interested in other dogs but appears to be more comfortable with smaller dogs, he is shy of new people but is growing in confidence every day. Once he trusts you he enjoys affection and will rub himself against you and sit on your lap.

Behaviour:
Norbert can be nervous of new people so needs to be allowed to approach them in his own time with a hands off approach at first but he quickly makes friends and doesn’t react to people on his walks so you can stand and have a chat with someone while out and about and he’s not worried. When he is getting to know you he may hump but this is becoming much less frequent as he has settled in and he no longer displays this behaviour with his main handlers.

Housing:
Due to his shy nature Norbert would benefit from living in a quiet home with a private enclosed garden, he can be a little worried by loud noises so this would need to be considered.

Children/pets:
Norbert should live with adults and children over 16 only with limited visiting children. He could live with another small dog subject to successful meets at the centre but not with cats or small animals as he is likely to chase them.

Vet history:
Norbert will need to be neutered, he is fully vaccinated and up to date with Flea and Worming treatment. He has a very mild heart murmur which we expect he was born with and he has not shown any signs of being affected by this.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £180. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.
