Name: Nora
Age: 1 year approx
Sex: Female
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Ref number: 162
Personality:
Nora came into us as a stray with her kittens and it is clear to see she has had none or very little human contact in her life. She spends all her time during the day curled up in her bed, only coming out to explore overnight when everyone has gone home.
Behaviour:
Nora does not show any signs of aggression, she is a very quiet girl who keeps to herself. At the moment Nora is not displaying behaviours of being a typical pet cat so for this reason she is looking for an alternative home, as it is likely she will prefer the independence and freedom of enjoying life outdoors. Over time, we feel Nora may get braver and decide to interact with her owners. For this reason, she would benefit from having the option of potentially come into a home environment, or to be around humans more in the future if she wishes.
Housing:
Nora is looking for a fully enclosed safe and secure outbuilding which will be provided with all the necessary resources she needs such as fresh food, water and warmth in the colder months. This can be in the form of blankets, straw and shredded paper where necessary. She will need to initially spend approximately 3 weeks shut inside her new accommodation to enable her to learn where home now is. The outbuilding will need to be a permanent place for Nora so that she always has a sheltered area to go to.
She cannot be homed in Southampton (SO24 0NN).
Support will be provided by the cattery and behaviour teams to ensure you have the correct setup, and to help with her planned release
back into the outside world.
Children/pets:
Nora will need to be cared for by adults only. However, children can be present within the household of the adoptees, providing that they are supervised at all times and understand Nora is not a typical pet cat so they should always keep a safe distance away.
Vet history:
Nora is neutered, microchipped, flea, wormed and fully vaccinated. Nora has no known medical conditions.
Nora has been on some medication to help her relax while in our care, she is currently being weaned off of this and will not be on this once she goes to her new home. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.
Additional information:
We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the cat.
Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.
Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.
