Name: Monzo
Age: approx 10 months
Sex: Male
Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier/shar pei
Ref number: 2
Personality:
Monzo is still a puppy who has unfortunately not had the best start in life. He is still learning about the world and he will need dedicated and experienced adopters willing to put the time into his training. Monzo can be quite a boisterous and energetic boy around people and other dogs. Although he is doing really well with his training here at the centre, and can learn very quickly.
Behaviour:
Monzo is a sweet and loving young boy, but he struggles with his arousal levels and jumps up/mouths at times. Monzo responds very well to reward-based training and thrives when he is working with his handler. He needs on-going training but the potential this boy has is endless! He is learning how to remain calm when on lead around other dogs and doing very well, but this will need continuing in his new home. Monzo loves everyone he meets, and is a very friendly boy. He needs to learn not to jump up and say hello politely but with support, we are confident Monzo will nail this. In a home environment assessment, Monzo has shown to get a bit silly at times and this excitement presents itself as humping. He will need confident owners who are prepared to put in some boundaries and follow a regular routine to help him settle into his new home. Monzo will need to attend obedience training classes. If you love bully breeds and have experience of working with them we would love to hear from you!
Housing:
Monzo cannot be rehomed to Derby area. He will need access to a private garden with 6ft fences and a separate area in the house as he settles in. He will also need adopters who are ready to stay at home with him initially until he learns how to be left at home alone.
Children/pets:
Monzo cannot live with children and will need to be the only animal in the home.
Vet history:
Monzo is up to date with flea, worming and vaccinations but will need to return to the centre at a later date to be neutered (when he is old enough).
