Name: Lyra
Age: 18 months approx
Sex: Female
Breed: DSH
Ref number: 63
Personality:
Lyra is such a little sweetheart that has been through so much at such a young age. She came into us as a stray who was heavily pregnant, very thin and not in the best of health. She was lucky enough to be fostered by an amazing mum who she created a beautiful bond with, and was the best mum to her 5 kittens. She is now back in our care looking for her forever home and all the love she deserves.
Behaviour:
Lyra doesn’t enjoy the cattery environment so will spend the day hiding away, however once we’ve gone home she’s like a different cat, very active and enjoys exploring her surroundings. In her foster home Lyra thrived. Lyra can be a shy girl but once she gets to know you she loves to be stroked and will give you the loveliest purr, head bumps and will also roll over. She would go to the door to meet her foster mum when she came back from work. We don’t think Lyra had much opportunity to play in the past but she is starting to show her playful side and can be quite kitten like at times.
Housing:
Lyra is very nervous and alert to any noises she can hear so she will need her own unused room to initially settle in before exploring the rest of the property, and eventually a garden. Lyra would find living in a busy built up area too stressful and would prefer quieter surroundings for her new home. She cannot be homed in Southampton (SO16 area).
Children/pets:
Due to Lyra taking time to settle in a new home she would be best suited as an only pet with a single person or couple. She will need patient owners who will take time with her but she will most certainly be worth it!
Vet history:
Lyra is neutered, microchipped, flea and wormed. Her second vaccination is due between 02/08/2024 – 08/08/2024 at the shelter and the cost is included in the adoption fee. Lyra has no known medical conditions. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.
Additional information:
We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the cat.
