John (McClane)

Name: John McClane

Age: Adult

Sex: Male

Breed: Domestic Short Hair

Ref number: 173

Personality:
Poor John came to us from a home with lots of cats so we don’t think he’s had a lot of one to one attention. At first he can be a bit nervous around people but once he trusts you his character really starts to shine.

Behaviour:
Despite John’s nervousness he’s actually a really playful boy. He loves playing with his favourite feather stick and various toys in his unit. He’s very curious and often keeps us entertained with his antics. We really feel he wants to make friends but will just need time and space to thrive in his new home. John will need a hands off approach to start with; he has started to create some lovely bonds with a couple of our staff and is now enjoying some cheek tickles.
Three months post adoption support will be provided by our onsite Behaviourist.

Housing:
John does get easily spooked when out exploring the cattery floor and will run back to his unit where he feels safe, so for this reason he will need his own unused room to initially settle in before exploring the rest of the property, and eventually a garden. He cannot be homed in the Southampton SO17 area.

Children/pets:
John is looking for an adult only home where he is an only pet. We have tried to reintroduce John with a cat from the same home but he can be quite domineering. Even though John is very interested in other cats, he doesn’t want to share his new home with one, but we think he would like some cats in the neighbourhood to make friends with.

Vet history:
John is neutered, microchipped, flea, wormed and fully vaccinated.
Whilst in our care John has had a dental and has had a build up of wax and debris in his ears which have been flushed. Once settled John may benefit from ad hoc ear cleaning if needed. Regular vet prescribed flea and worming treatment could help with this. John has come from a large multicat household, he occasionally has a watery eye who causes him no problems, it could be that he is a carrier of cat flu.
4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £100. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.
