Grape & Kiwi

Name: Grape & Kiwi

Age: 5 months

Sex: Male

Breed: Guinea pigs

Ref number: 18 & 19

Personality:
Grape and Kiwi love nothing more than veg time! As soon as there is the sound of the rustling of veg they begin a chorus of squeaks. These handsome boys often spend their days laid out under their fleece forest beside one another, or using their soft bed as a climbing frame! Kiwi is often spotted laying down in his hammock for a snooze, while Grape loves to forage for food in a snuffle mat.

Behaviour:
As these brothers were born at The Ark, they were fortunate enough to be raised in a temporary foster home. This meant they received lots of vital positive socialisation, and are now quite bold and brave ready for their forever home! However, like most piggies they can be unsure of being picked up but once snuggled in a cosy lap they settle well. We would advise at least one meeting, where staff can discuss the boys and any potential mixing of other piggies.

Housing:
They will require an enclosure of a minimum of 6ft x 2ft, either indoors (such as a C&C pen) or outdoors (a large shed set up) and we do recommend a run for the garden with a lid. Grape and Kiwi can be homed as a pair, or they could be mixed with a large group of female Guinea Pigs, but would require at least one female each to avoid fighting.

Children/Pets:
Can live with cats/dogs in a separate room. Age requirement of children is 8+ years, this is due to them being a bit nervous when it comes to handling, and they can be easily spooked so child supervision for interaction is advised.

Vet history:
Both boys have been neutered while in our care and currently have no medical issues. Grape was born the smallest of the litter, and therefore hasn’t grown as big as siblings but this doesn’t affect him in any way.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £30 If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the guinea pigs.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.

Please note you have to be 18+ to apply for an animal
