Gordan Ram-sey, Wool Smith, Meryl Sheep, Lady Baa Baa & Ewenice

Name: Our Famous Flock

Age: Adult (varied)

Sex: X2 males & X3 females

Breed: Sheep

Ref number: 1-5

Personality:
Meet our famous flock! Gordan Ram-sey, Wool Smith, Meryl Sheep, Lady Baa Baa – and Ewenice! Food is a shared passion for this group, and will always come running when it’s meal time. You’ll often hear them baa-ing from across the field for attention!

Behaviour:
From observations, we have found Wool Smith & Ewenice to be the most confident when approaching their staff and are quite comfortable with being stroked. Meryl Sheep, Lady Baa Baa & Gordan Ram-sey, are gradually following in their hoof-steps, but will still shy away from contact. They will require a home that can provide a patient approach, to build a bond and trust. Prior to the sheep being in our care, we are unsure how much experience they have with being correctly manoeuvred for shearing, and may need time to get used to these methods.

Housing:
This flock is looking for an acre field or bigger with post, rail and stock fencing. It needs to have a suitable sized shelter that they can have access to 24/7. Sizes of field/shelter can be discussed with staff, depending if it holds any current residents. Field rotation is essential for these high grazers. You will require a CPH number from DEFRA. Transportation can be arranged by the team here at The Ark, providing it is within one hour radius of the shelter.

Children/pets:
These sheep can live with children of all ages, but there must be adult supervision if interacting with them. They can be introduced to an existing flock of sheep, as long as there is enough resources and space for the total amount.

Vet history:
The males are neutered and all of the sheep have had a recent clear worm count, a bluetongue vaccination and vaccinated with Bravoxin. They have recently been sheared and have no other health concerns.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £225. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

All rented and leasehold properties will require written consent from the property owner or agent. This needs to be in place before completing an application form. If your application is successful, staff will request a copy.

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the sheep.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.

Please note you have to be 18+ to apply for an animal.
