Name: Ginny
Age: Adult (Young but exact is unknown)
Sex: Female
Breed: Rat
Ref number: 4
Personality:
Say hi to Ginny! A very pretty doe who has a new lease of life, with oodles of energy and love to give. Ginny loves an activity, especially a mealworm forage box. When she’s not snacking or climbing across her variety of levels, she enjoys settling in a cosy hammock. All she needs now is a mischief of her own to be welcomed into!
Behaviour:
To start, Ginny was quite timid and nervous and took a bit of time to settle into her new environment. With consistent positive interactions, it didn’t take long for Ginny to brighten up and find her feet. She will happily approach us to be fed and socialised, but can still be a little shy or easily spooked. We believe companionship of her own kind will continue to help her thrive, either gender. (Males need to be neutered).
Housing:
Large indoor rat cage, sizes of cage can be discussed with staff. When she’s mixed with other rats, the suitable size of the cage will depend on how many rats there are in total. The ability to offer supervised free roam time in a secure rat-proof room is preferred and experience with mixing of rats.
Children/pets:
Can live with dogs/cats in a separate room. Age requirement of children is 12+ years, due to the approach on how she is handled and socialised. Despite her confidence, she can be a bit nervous with handling and can be easily startled so children would need to be supervised if interacting.
Vet history:
Ginny currently has no medical issues.
