Name: Geri
Age: 1 year 7 months approx
Sex: Female
Breed: Domestic Long Hair
Ref number: 26
Personality:
Geri has had a tough year, losing her owner and then as a result living on the streets for over 6 months. She was lucky enough to have someone who looked out for her and made sure she was regularly fed before coming into our care. Due to her sad past we unfortunately don’t have any history on her but she has shown she is becoming more relaxed around staff each day but will need patient owners in her new home.
Behaviour:
Geri has adapted well to the routine of the cattery as she knowns staff will respect her space and everything is done on her terms. When in Geri’s presence, she will often slow blink at us and will rest her head on her paws or blanket, eventually closing her eyes. At the moment we are hands off with Geri and we are unsure if she will ever want human contact, if she does, this will need to be her choice. At present, she has shown she is relaxed around people who she trusts. 3 months post adoption support will be provided by our onsite behaviourist.
Housing:
Geri will need an unused room of her own to initially settle in before exploring the rest of the property, and eventually a garden. She cannot be homed in Southampton (SO14 area).
Children/pets:
Geri will need to be an only pet in a quiet adults only home. Her new owners will need to be hands off with her and understand she may never want human contact but may be happy spending time around them.
Vet history:
Geri is neutered, microchipped, flea, wormed and fully vaccinated. Geri has no known medical conditions. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.
