Rehoming – Profile

History:   Elmo came into our care as a stray with a very poorly eye.

Behaviour observations on site:

Elmo is guaranteed to steal your heart. Even when he wasn’t feeling his best and was having eye drops administered several times a day, he remained the biggest sweetheart. He just wanted to be fussed and loved. Even when Elmo had his eye surgery and was wearing the dreaded buster collar, it didn’t change the fact he just wanted human company and would regularly lay across staff or volunteers legs being stroked, often he would be so relaxed he would fall asleep.

No he’s recovered and feeling much better he is a very chatty boy who is happy trotting up and down the cattery floor so he knows exactly what’s happening. When the mood takes him he’s been known to have a funny five minutes playing and will sometimes enjoy a game of football with the volunteers. He’s also a typical man who enjoys his food!

Whoever gets to adopt this special boy will be very lucky indeed.

Elmo needs to be an only pet and can live with children aged 8+ who will be gentle with him.

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the cat.

Adoption fee:     £80       If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Medical history:

Elmo is neutered, microchipped, flea, wormed and fully vaccinated.

Elmo has had an entropian operation and has fully recovered. An entropian is where the edge of the eyelid rolls inwards, so the eyelashes irritate the surface of the eye. He is cross eyed so doesn’t always see things close up. He also has an abnormal gait and can occasionally be a little wobbly due to osteoarthritis, he is currently on pain relief for this which he is likely to be on long term.

4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Additional information:

Elmo cannot be homed in Woolston, Southampton.
