Dylan

Name: Dylan

Age: Mature

Sex: Male

Breed: Lurcher

Ref number: 54

Personality:
Dylan is a sweet boy who enjoys curling up on a soft bed, he is searching for an experienced new owner. He is gradually building up his
confidence on walks but at times can still find things a little overwhelming. Dylan enjoys having the space to explore and sniff at his own pace but also loves the chance to have a run especially with a ball involved! Dylan is quite an independent dog and although does enjoy a short fuss, is happy being left to his own devices. We are sure with time and patience he will flourish.

Behaviour:
Dylan can be a little wary of handling at first and so benefits from a slow approach. He will need adopters who have a good understanding of canine body language and are able to read him correctly. Dylan is interested in other dogs when out and can walk with calm friendly dogs. He can become worried by them if they bark at him and so may bark back. Dylan is doing well with confidence building games here and this is something that would benefit him if continued in the home. Dylan shown signs of resource guarding over a food bowl/chews. For this reason, he will need a secure, separate area of the house where he can be fed and left alone. This will need to be sectioned off by a stair gate. Experience with this behavioural trait is preferred.

Housing:
Dylan would preferably benefit from living in a house with a garden as he does enjoy having the space to explore and play. Will need 6ft fencing. Cannot be rehomed to the Southampton area.

Children/pets:
Dylan would need to be the only pet in the home. Adults only with no visiting children.

Vet history:
Dylan has been castrated and is fully vaccinated and up to date with flea and worming. He has no known ongoing medical conditions.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £180. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.
