Draco

Due to the number of applications we have received, we will not be accepting applications that are more than a one hour drive away from the Ark.

Name: Draco

Age: 6 weeks

Sex: Male

Breed: Mixed Breed

Ref number: 72

Personality:
Let us introduce you to the Cemetery puppies. These sweet boys have not had the best start to life after being found at four days old in a shoe box in a Cemetery. These puppies have been hand raised by our wonderful team of staff and volunteers. Due to a traumatic start in life and being raised without a mum, these boys can be quite nervous of new situations. We are looking for dedicated adopters who are prepared to put in the time and effort it takes when raising a puppy but who are also sensitive to the fact that they can be a little nervous. Ideally adopters will have experience with larger breed dogs.

Behaviour:
Draco has lived with his brother Malfoy since coming to the centre. He is a super playful and sweet boy. He enjoys playing tug, having cuddles and running around the house after his brother. He generally takes most things in his stride, but can be nervous in new situations and new things he needs to be introduced slowly so he does not get worried, when this process is followed he relaxes quickly.

Housing:
He will not be able to be left alone at all initially, and will need someone home at all times to begin with. Then he will need gradual exposure to being left alone. They will need access to a private, secure garden.

Please do not apply for this puppy if you are not in a position to adopt in 2 weeks time. We will not process applications with holidays approaching.

Children/pets:
Draco can be rehomed with Children 12+, these puppies are mouthy and nippy, so this should be considered before applying. He can also live with a dog savvy cat or a calm dog that would be comfortable with a puppy.

Vet history:
All puppies are flea, wormed and microchipped. They have had their first vaccination and will need to return to the shelter for their 3rd vaccination at 10 weeks old and neutering (when they are old enough)

PLEASE NOTE WE WILL NOT BE PROCESSING ANY APPLICATIONS UNTIL THE PUPPIES ARE 8 WEEKS OLD. 15/08/25

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £250. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

All rented and leasehold properties will require written consent from the property owner or agent. This needs to be in place before completing an application form. If your application is successful, staff will request a copy.

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.

Please note you have to be 18+ to apply for an animal.
