Rehoming – Profile

History:

Doug’s owner was no longer able to care for him at home.

Behaviour observations on site:

Doug the Pug is approximately 5 months old. He has enjoyed Christmas at home with one of our amazing staff and is now looking for his forever home. Doug is a confident, active little chap, he has lots of energy and a lot to learn! He spent his Christmas with a couple of other dogs, so we know he needs to learn some social skills and boundaries! For this reason, we are looking for a home for Doug with no other dogs. His daytime activity means he sleeps well at night in a covered crate, in a quiet place. He has also been learning to settle in a crate at other times during the day, when people are around, but will need to continue to practice this.

Doug will need an owner who is willing to attend puppy socialisation and training sessions. Doug travels well in a small crate in the car, he will either settle or play with his toys for the journey. Doug has been out and about on a harness and lead, he walks quite well for a young pup but is obviously interested in exploring everything!

He has been learning to transition from using puppy pads to toileting outside and will need his new owners to help him develop this skill.
Little Doug will be a fantastic and loving addition to an active home that understands and can meet the needs of a puppy.

Adoption fee: £200 If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.

Medical history:

Doug is vaccinated and up to date with flea and worm treatment and will need to return when he is a year old to be neutered.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.
