Dottie

Name: Dottie

Age: Approximately 10 months

Sex: Female

Breed: Crossbreed

Ref number: 81

Personality:
Beautiful Dottie is a very friendly girl who loves human company, she seeks affection and wants to be close to you and would love to snuggle up next to someone on the sofa. She is playful, full of energy and very clever. Dottie came into us as a stray so we are not sure of her breed but she has shown some border collie and spaniel traits. She is playful with other dogs and gains confidence from being around them.

Behaviour:
We believe Dottie has lived a sheltered life so far and can be very nervous of new experiences and strange objects so any adopter should be prepared to expose her to new things slowly and stop and give her reassurance when she needs it. It’s unlikely she has walked on a lead before she came to us so would benefit from ongoing training. We are unsure if Dottie can be left alone at this point. Initially she will not be able to be left and adopters will need to grow this slowly.

Housing:
Dottie would benefit from living in a quiet home with a very secure private garden, she has shown she can find the smallest of gaps to escape through and she is very quick so adopters would need to be aware of this and monitor her closely, she cannot be rehomed to the Fareham area

Children/pets:
Dottie could live in a home with adults and calm children over the age of 14. She could benefit from living with another confident dog subject to successful meets at the center. She could live with cats and smaller animals if they were kept separate.

Vet history:
Dottie has been fully vaccinated and is up to date with her flea and worming treatment. She will be spayed when she is old enough at the shelter.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £180. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.

Please note you have to be 18+ to apply for an animal
