Derek

Name: Derek

Age: 2 years

Sex: Male

Breed: Lop Rabbit

Ref number: 57

Personality:
Derek is a lovely lop, who loves to sniff out what’s new! He particularly enjoys a good cardboard toy to have a good chew on and tear up. He is longing for the companionship of a neutered female rabbit.

Behaviour:
On arrival Derek was a bit nervous, but shortly after finding his feet here, he grew in confidence. He can be quite eager for his nuggets in the morning, so every other day we offer this meal in a puzzle feeder or snuffle mat to enhance this experience for him. Derek would require at least one meeting where staff can discuss Derek and his requirements. Questions prior to the bonding of the rabbits can be answered too.

Housing:
Derek is looking for either an indoor or outdoor accommodation. This would need to be either a large rabbit-proof room, or a large shed outdoors with a run/aviary permanently attached. Minimum sizing is 6ft x 4ft, where it is a safe environment that allows the rabbits to display their natural behaviors (digging, foraging and binkying).

Children/pets:
Derek can live around other pets, but to be kept separately. He can also live with secondary school age children (11-18 years), younger children should always be supervised if handling/interacting with the rabbits.

Vet history:
Derek has been neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated and had a full teeth check. He does have some small old wounds/scars to his ears, all of which are fully healed over and do not bother Derek at all.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £60. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the rabbits.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.

Please note you have to be 18+ to apply for an animal
