Name: Dave, Gordon & Puddles
Age: Senior
Sex: Unknown
Breed: Emden Geese X3
Ref number: 6, 8, 7

Personality:
All three geese love their food and you will find them sunbathing on the bank of the pond on a nice sunny day. Gordon is a big goose with a keen eye for danger, he is always the first one to warn the other two if there is something going on, even though he isn’t as vocal as the others he is the biggest. Dave is our very own alarm and he will let everyone know about stranger danger and make himself as big as he can if predators are around. Puddles has the biggest personality and doesn’t let being the smallest hold him back.

Behaviour:
Geese are territorial animals however all three are good around cleaning and will happily take themselves away to another area of the pond so the staff can clean their sleeping area. These guys do not like being handled and are much better off being left to their own devices, however they are used to being health checked and weighed.

Housing:
These three will need to have access to the outside with water to bathe in. They will need a larger shelter such as a stable or shed to be able to go in at night and to shelter from the elements when they want.

Children/pets:
They can be housed in a separate area from other animals and children 12 +.

Vet history:
Unfortunately all three geese came in with poor feather condition, however they have since shed their old feathers and their new ones are coming through nicely. Due to them being neglected previously they all have small amounts of bumble foot, this is on the mend as a result of these they can not be homed on concrete. Puddles came into us with a slightly deformed beak, however this has been checked over by the vet and it doesn’t impact his quality of life or stop him from eating.

Additional information:
We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the geese.
Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.
