Rehoming – Profile

History:

Cheese came into our care as his owner was unable to provide him the care he needed.

Behaviour observations on site:

Cheese was very nervous when he first came into our care. He settled at a slow and steady pace and he spent most his time in his inside carrier in the warm. Although being nervous he has always been a friendly boy and he would enjoy some quiet company with some gentle strokes. Staff and volunteers have seen a big difference in Cheese since he has adjusted to his surroundings and feels safe. Cheese is now very keen for human company and will equally enjoy sitting on a volunteers lap enjoying some fuss in his outdoor run or coming out onto the cattery floor to explore and play.

Cheese is a sweet boy and can be very affectionate. He prefers to have fuss on his own terms and when he wants to, he will sit on your lap for gentle strokes. Cheese is not keen on being over-handled or being picked up frequently therefore Cheese is looking for a home where his owners will understand and learn when Cheese is comfortable with having some fuss and when he would like to have some space.

Cheese can be very playful at times and he has a couple favourite toys he loves to play with in his unit. He also likes to come out onto the cattery floor for a good stretch and when he’s in the mood he will enjoy playing with some stick toys or ping pong balls.

Cheese would benefit from having a room of his own to help him settle into his new home. This is due to him being nervous of a new environment and needing his own time to get used to his surroundings. Once he feels comfortable he could then explore further of his new home and eventually a fully enclosed garden.

Cheese could live with children 12+. Cheese cannot live with cats or dogs.

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the cat.

Adoption fee: £80 If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Medical history:

Cheese is neutered, microchipped, flea, wormed and fully vaccinated.

Cheese wasn’t in the best condition when he came into our care and suffered with a B12 deficiency and low glucose levels which have now resolved. Cheese has a fractured sternum which was an incidental finding and causes him no problems. Cheese has had dental treatment while in our care.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Additional information:

Cheese cannot be homed in Eastleigh.
