Cara & Maya

Name: Cara & Maya

Age: 5 and 6 years

Sex: Females

Breed: Lab x Akita and Akita

Ref number: 109 & 110

Personality:
Cara is Maya’s daughter and they are a very friendly pair who are well bonded and are looking for their forever home together. They are both affectionate and will lean into you for cuddles and a belly rub when relaxed. They are both very calm in most situations and have been a joy to work with, they are also very playful and like a good run off lead and love to chase a tennis ball. Cara is very foody which makes her easy to train and she has learnt a lot in the short time she has been with us. We believe they are house trained as they always prefer to wait until their walks to toilet.

Behaviour:
Maya walks amazingly on the lead and for a big dog is very calm and easy to manage. Cara can be strong on the lead but is responding
really well to training and is now able to walk on a loose lead most of the time. Cara can be a little head shy but makes friends very quickly. We have not noticed any issues with them around resources and they are both very respectful of each other.

Housing:
They will need a private enclosed garden which they can access regularly but should be able to be left alone for part of the day if they are together once settled. They cannot be rehomed to the St Albans area.

Children/pets:
As far as we know Cara and Maya haven’t lived around children, however they are both very sociable so we will consider applications with children.
They cannot live with cats but could live with other small animals if they were kept separately.

Vet history:
Maya occasionally gets Interdigital cysts between her toes, these don’t appear to give her any discomfort but it is likely these may occur from time to time which can go away on their own or could be managed with bathing, full information will be given to any potential adopters. Cara came into us very overweight but she is losing weight well and any adopter will need to keep on top of this and ensure she doesn’t regain the weight. Maya has been spayed and Cara will be spayed at the appropriate time. Both dogs are fully vaccinated and up to date with flea and worming treatment.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £385. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.

Please note you have to be 18+ to apply for an animal
