Personality:
Since Boq’s arrival at the Ark he has been quite shy. To begin with Boq wasn’t perching but after lots of care from our staff, he is now perching on branches and has begun singing lots of different tunes.
Behaviour:
Due to being quite unsure Boq can become panicked when there is a lot of movement around his cage, but we believe when he is housed with other birds then he will be able to grow in confidence with people.
Housing:
Boq will need to be housed in a large outdoors aviary with other birds, but due to previously being housed insides, you will need to have a set up where he can be housed inside and then slowly transitioned to living outdoors. This will need to be done over a period of weeks and weather dependent, for advice on this process, please ask staff.
Children/pets:
Can live with children aged 12+ years, we do advise that children are monitored when interacting with Boq. He can live in a separate space from other animals.

Boq currently does not have any medical issues.
