Rehoming – Profile

History:

Bob came into us through no fault of his own due to a change in circumstances.

Behaviour observations on site:

Bob is a handsome, happy, playful, and affectionate boy who has such a fun character. He has been living with a foster couple since the start of January and has settled very well.

He loves playing with his toys, especially the squeaky ones! He also loves his food, long walks and cuddles in equal measures!

Bob can be nervous of new people to start with so requires a hands-off approach initially but makes friends very quickly if he is able to approach in his own time. He is a little wary of handling so his new owner/s will need to take things slowly with him but he is generally very well socialised and is not worried by loud noises/new environments and takes everything in his stride.

Bob is crate trained and will take himself off for a nap or will join you on the sofa for cuddles. His fosterer reports that he sleeps well at night with no disturbance or fuss and is fully toilet trained.

Bob walks well on the lead and loves exploring new places, he responds well to training and enjoys learning new tricks. Due to his breed, he has a high prey drive towards small animals so his new home will need to be aware of this and be prepared to work on his recall. He is high energy for a small dog and loves chasing a ball, we believe he may also make a great running companion so he would benefit from living with an active family/couple/individual who can give him plenty of exercise and mental stimulation.

We have noticed Bob can be a little over excited around toys and shows some signs that he does not want to share them. For this reason, he will need to be the only dog in the home and older children only.

Adoption fee:  £180.  If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.

Medical history:

Bob is fully vaccinated, flea and wormed and has been neutered. He has recently recovered from having his right eye removed due to an ulcer that developed after attempted cherry eye repair. We would recommend regular eye drops going forward to protect the remaining eye and any future issues with Bob’s remaining eye must be treated as an emergency. Despite his surgery Bob has adapted well to living with one eye.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.
