Amelia

Name: Amelia

Age: 5 years

Sex: Female

Breed: Domestic Short Hair

Ref number: 112

Personality:
Amelia was signed over into our care as she found living in a busy household with other cats, dogs and young children very stressful, due to this she decided to live outside where she suffered with a flea allergy which resulted in her having alopecia and lots of sores over her body. Throughout all her treatment she has remained an absolute sweetheart and is now looking much better and is ready to find her forever home. Due to the length of time Amelia has been with us, she has been lucky enough to have recently spent her time in a foster home where her foster mum has said she has been an absolute dream to have.

Behaviour:
In her foster home Amelia settled very quickly and is much happier being out of the cattery environment. She loves to relax in any comfy spot she can find and have a little snooze. She is a very loving and affectionate girl who enjoys nothing more than cuddling up with her foster mum, Amelia would love her new owners to be around most of the time. Occasionally Amelia does like to play with some toys when the mood takes her, but generally she is a very chilled and laid back girl who is looking for a calm and quiet home.

Housing:
Amelia will need a home with outside access to a garden. She cannot be homed in the Southampton SO15 area. Please note, Amelia is currently in a foster home, based in Park Gate. Her potential adopters will be able to meet Amelia in her foster home with a member of staff.

Children/pets:
Due to Amelia’s previous experiences she will need to be an only pet and can live with older aged secondary school children.

Vet history:
Amelia is neutered, microchipped, flea, wormed and fully vaccinated. To help her skin Amelia has been on some medication, she is currently being weaned off of these and is on a very low dose. If she is still on them when she is adopted these will be provided to complete the course. Amelia is also on a special bland diet to help her skin. Once fully settled in a home it is possible she may be able to be weaned onto a normal diet under your vets recommendation and support. Some food will be provided to take to her new home. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £100. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

All rented and leasehold properties will require written consent from the property owner or agent. This needs to be in place before completing an application form. If your application is successful, staff will request a copy.
