Alison

Name: Alison

Age: Adult

Sex: Female

Breed: DSH

Ref number: 37

Alison was incredibly shy when she first came in, she would happily sit near us but didn’t want any contact. She had caused some trauma to her ear tips which she found quite uncomfortable, since she’s had them removed she’s a different cat, once she knows and trusts you she can be a loving and affectionate girl. She’s a massive foodie which always helps!

Now Alison is feeling better she has been gradually increasing her trusted circle of friends, she will enjoy some fuss and even a brush from the people she loves. She can still be a bit shy with handling, especially around her ears, so she will need patient owners who will do things at a pace Alison feels comfortable with. She will love a sofa to sit next to you on, and might even pop on your lap for a cuddle. Equally Alison can be quite independent and is happy doing her own thing. Who ever gets to adopt this beautiful girl will be very lucky indeed.

Alison would benefit from a room to start off in. Once she’s feeling more settled in this room she can slowly be introduced to the rest of the house. She will need a home with outside access to a garden. She cannot be rehomed to the Maybush Southampton area.

Alison is looking for an adult only household due to her nervous nature. She may live with another cat who is used to living with cats with a slow and careful introduction. Alison is too nervous to live with a dog.

Alison is neutered, microchipped, and is up to date with flea and worming treatment. She is fully vaccinated.

Alison came into us with severe scar tissue on her ear tips, which would not heal fully due to self-traumatisation, and so had to be removed. She also had a small superficial scab on the tip of the bridge of her nose, which has since healed. Although these have now resolved she is still at risk of these developing in the future. As she is a light haired cat it is recommended to keep her out of direct sunlight during signs of high UV exposure. You could also discuss with your vet about the use of pet safe sunscreens.
