A letter to our supporters

As many of you have seen, the RSPCA National Society have recently rebranded showcasing a much fresher, modern and exciting new look.

This rebrand reflects the new message the RSPCA want to get out into the world – EVERYONE FOR EVERY ANIMAL.

Here at the Stubbington Ark, we align with this message.

As an independent Branch of the RSPCA, we are solely responsible for raising all our own funds to keep our animal centre up and running. We do, however, work closely with the national RSPCA as they licence us, provide advice and support within animal welfare laws, and we work closely with the local RSPCA Inspectors in our area.

Currently we have two logos – our RSPCA Solent Branch logo, and our Stubbington Ark Animal Centre logo. Having two logos created a discourse within our marketing and awareness campaigns, so alongside the new national RSPCA rebrand, we decided to amalgamate them into one.

Most of you – our loyal supporters, volunteers and donors – know us as the Stubbington Ark, or the Ark.

After many discussions with the RSPCA National Society, where we explained the importance of the Ark to not only us here at the animal centre, but to all of you as well, we agreed upon a new name that we would be known as – RSPCA The Ark.

Our new logo now reflects this new name.

We have chosen a bee as our animal symbol – not only because we couldn’t choose just a single animal here at the Ark to represent us (we love our dogs, cats, smalls and stock animals equally!) but because a bee is the symbol of life. Without these amazing little creatures, the world as we know it would not be the same.

But fear not – the symbol of the Ark has not been lost. After realising the importance of this within our local community, our history and our animal centre story – the RSPCA National Society created us our very own bespoke Ark icon that we can use in our shops, our animal centre, our content and posters – and wherever else we want to post it 😊

As with all rebrands, this can be a costly exercise and questions will be asked how this is being funded – and rightly so! We would like to reassure you all that we will not be spending any of your donations to the Stubbington Ark on this, as we will be receiving funding from the RSPCA National Society.

We hope you can all get behind our brand-new look and feel.

We are still the same animal centre, we are still the same staff and volunteers who love those animals more than anything, and we still uphold the same values of rehabilitation, rehoming and releasing as many animals and wildlife as we can… but we now have a more modern and updated look to reflect who we wish to be going forward.

We know change can be difficult, and we are happy to answer any questions people may have about our new brand and why we have chosen this.

As ever, we thank everyone for their support and understanding. We have always said we wouldn’t be able to care for and rehome as many animals as we do without the support of you all – and we (and our animals) appreciate you more than we can ever express in words.
