Taz

Name: Taz

Age: 2 years

Sex: Male

Breed: Staffie cross

Ref number: 59

Personality:
Taz is an adorable big baby. He loves sniffy walks, food enrichment, training for treats and to rest at your feet. Taz didn’t have the best start prior to his arrival at the Ark but after some love and consistency he’s settled in well and made some good friends across the site. Taz was very underweight when he first arrived at the Ark and has spent a lot of time bulking back up! He’s been with us a little while now as he has undergone some assessments and training but now he is ready to find his forever home.

Behaviour:
He can be strong on lead at times but generally is a very sniffy boy and walks on a lovely loose lead. He can be whiny around dogs and whilst he does enjoy socialising with other dogs they can find him a bit much at times! He has managed to find a suitably matched play mate on site and has moments of being calm though his social skills will need to continue being developed in the home! Taz has shown us that he can struggle to stay calm in home environments, he is learning to be a much more relaxed boy, but he is looking for a calm, patient and confident new guardian to help him settle in to his new home.

Housing:
Cannot be rehomed to the Portsmouth area. Taz will need access to a private secure garden.

Children/pets:
Whilst Taz is a friendly boy, he can get very excited, and for this reason we recommend a calmer adult-only home. Children can visit occasionally if they can be calm around him, and we recommend he’s kept on lead during these interactions. He will also need to be the only pet in the home.

Vet history:
Taz is up to date with flea, worming and vaccinations. He has no ongoing medical conditions. He is currently on behaviour medication which can be discussed further with potential adopters.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £220. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

All rented and leasehold properties will require written consent from the property owner or agent. This needs to be in place before completing an application form. If your application is successful, staff will request a copy.

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.
