Bear

Name: Bear

Age: 4 years

Sex: Male

Breed: Chow Chow/Husky

Ref number: 37

Personality:
Our wonderful Bear is finally ready to find his forever family. He’s a friendly, chilled, fun, well-rounded dog that would make a loving addition to any household. Bear has been lucky to spend some time at home with a member of staff here, where we have learnt he is very calm in the home, brilliant with children, travels in the car really well, and can be left alone for some of the day. Whilst at the Ark he spends time in the office – happily watching the world go by – so has the potential to be a great office dog as well. He’s also very playful and loves playing with his soft toys, and enjoys going out on his walks.

Behaviour:
Bear has a high prey drive, and likes to chase cats and small animals. He will need a home who is prepared to train him to channel his instincts in a more positive way. He can be strong on lead if there is a squirrel around, however most of the time he walks really well. Bear is friendly with other dogs, but can be a bit excitable at times so will need to learn how to approach calmly.

Housing:
Bear would benefit from a good sized enclosed garden to explore and run around off lead. He cannot be homed in the PO7 area.

Children/pets:
Bear can live with any age children who are ok with big dogs and able to give him space when needed. Bear should be the only animal in the home but he could make doggie friends on his walks. All interactions with young children should be supervised at all times.

Vet history:
Bear has recently had entropion surgery on his right eye. Full details will be given to any potential adopters. He is castrated, fully vaccinated and up to date with flea and worm treatment.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £220. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

All rented and leasehold properties will require written consent from the property owner or agent. This needs to be in place before completing an application form. If your application is successful, staff will request a copy.

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.

Please note you have to be 18+ to apply for an animal.
