Name: Tommy
Age: 1 year approx
Sex: Male
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Ref number: 34
Personality:
Handsome Tommy has made lots of progress in his confidence since arriving in our care. He has spent the last few weeks building up his trust with staff. Tommy is a playful, inquisitive boy and is now ready to find his forever home.
Behaviour:
Tommy is enjoying having company. He gets comfy in his hides and stretches himself out, giving slow blinks. He loves to be able to explore the surroundings whilst being socialised. He will bat around with his toys and have a little roll in catnip. Tommy sometimes comes over to investigate and give socialisers a good sniff. Tommy has made a close bond with one member of staff who he is starting to initiate some gentle cheek rubs from. He leans his head into their hand and does a quiet purr. Tommy would love to have a calm home where he can explore the house in his own time and get to know his new owners gradually. We believe Tommy will show his loving side once he has settled into his new home. He will appreciate his new owners being patient with him whilst he is adjusting to his surroundings. Tommy is now spending time at the front of his unit watching through the mesh at the world around him.
Housing:
Tommy does prefer the safety of his unit and finds new surroundings a little scary, so for this reason he will need his own unused room to initially settle in before exploring the rest of the property, and eventually a garden. He cannot be homed in Southampton so16 area.
Children/pets:
Tommy would benefit from an adult only household. He cannot live with other cats or dogs due to onsite observations.
Vet history:
Tommy is neutered, microchipped, flea, wormed and fully vaccinated. Tommy has no known medical conditions. Tommy has been on some medication to help him relax while in our care. This will be provided for his new home and a plan will be given on how to gradually wean him off of this. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.
